Being an anime lover while growing up in Asia was pretty easy back in the 1990's.  From Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball, Evangelion, SlamDunk and many many more, the list goes on.  My favorite though has always been Gundam, especially Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.  I just love all the mecha designs in that series.

As a father of three kids, I wanted my kids to love anime just as I do.  I had influenced them at an early age.  Watching anime and building Gundam was always a way for me to de-stress after a long week of work.  I often build them in my little work station, my kids will join me and watch as I build.  

Gundam Hobby

Gundam Hobby started est. back in summer of 2014.  The idea started because I just could not believe the high mark-ups local retailers are charging.  My mission was, and still to this day, is to bring affordable pricing to everyone across Canada. 

We simply use the MSRP from Japanese Yen, convert them into Canadian Dollars using a calculated factor (which includes exchange rate, service fees and taxes).  Since we opened back in 2014, we have not increased our prices, even though our cost has gone up by 15%.  The reason is because I believe offering low, affordable prices is more important than high profits.  As long as Gundam Hobby is able to operate with a small profit, we will continue to do so, in hopes our customers can continue to enjoy building Gundam at an affordable price.  Also to create a next generation of Gundam lovers such as myself.

We have noticed several new hobby stores across Canada recently opened in the past year or two, started to price their products similar to us.  I am happy to see these stores popping up, it means I have done something right for the past 6 years.  But I can proudly say that I am the first in Canada to offer low, affordable prices to everyone in Canada.

I appreciate all the support, feedbacks and comments I have received from my loyal customers these past 6 years.  Gundam Hobby could not still be here if it wasn't for everyone's support!
